DAY 1:
Departure from Böblingen, PX parking lot at 05:00 am. From Wiesbaden, Hainerberg, J.F. Kennedy Str., corner Washington Str., bus stop (off post) at 06:30 am. From Kaiserslautern, P+R parking lot Daennerplatz (opposite Kleber Kaserne, free parking) at 07:30 am. From Ramstein Shell Autohof, bus parking lot at 08:00 am (parking fee extra). We’ll stop for lunch along the way (not included), giving you a chance to relax and enjoy a bite before continuing our journey. In the afternoon, we arrive in the charming village of Giverny in Normandy — best known as the beloved home of the great Impressionist painter Claude Monet. Here, we’ll visit the house where Monet lived and worked for over 40 years. You’ll have the chance to wander through his stunning gardens, bursting with seasonal blooms, and see the world-famous lily pond that inspired some of his most iconic paintings. It’s a truly enchanting experience that brings his art to life (entrance fee included). After our visit, we continue on to Caen, arriving in the evening. We’ll check in at our comfortable 4-star hotel, where you’ll have time to unwind. After a full and inspiring day, we’ll enjoy a well-deserved dinner together at the hotel (included), and relax as we look forward to the adventures that await us tomorrow.
DAY 2:
After enjoying a hearty buffet breakfast at the hotel (included), we set out for Sainte-Mère-Église, one of the first villages to be liberated on D-Day. Here, we visit the fascinating Musée des Troupes Aéroportées (Airborne Museum), which offers a powerful insight into the experiences of the American paratroopers who landed here (entrance ticket not included). Along the way, we pause at the Liberty Milestone of Utah Beach — one of the five historic landing sites — before continuing to Omaha Beach, where the scale and emotion of D-Day truly come into focus. Next, we head to Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Army Rangers bravely scaled the cliffs under intense enemy fire — a site that remains a dramatic symbol of courage and determination. We then visit the serene and moving American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking Omaha Beach, where rows of white crosses commemorate the fallen. Our journey continues to Longues-sur-Mer, home to one of the last remaining German coastal batteries, remarkably well preserved and offering a glimpse into the Atlantic Wall defenses. We then pass through Arromanches, where remnants of the ingenious Mulberry Harbour — the artificial port that played a key role in the success of the Allied landings — can still be seen offshore. In the evening, we make a final stop in the picturesque seaside village of Courseulles-sur-Mer, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional seafood dinner in one of the town’s cozy local restaurants (dinner not included). We return to our hotel later in the evening, reflecting on a day filled with history, remembrance, and heartfelt moments.
DAY 3:
After enjoying a delicious buffet breakfast (included), we set off for the breathtaking Mont Saint-Michel, one of France’s most iconic landmarks. Upon arrival, we’ll hop on the local shuttle that takes us across the causeway to the island itself. From there, we’ll make our way up the charming, narrow streets to the magnificent Abbey — a place of pilgrimage for centuries (please note: Abbey entrance ticket not included). You’ll then have some free time to soak in the magical atmosphere of this medieval gem. Stroll through quaint shops, take in the sweeping views of the bay, and perhaps treat yourself to the famous Omelette de la Mère Poulard, a culinary specialty with a long-standing tradition. Afterwards, we return to Caen, arriving back at the hotel in the late afternoon. Your guide will be happy to offer recommendations for a lovely dinner in Caen’s picturesque medieval quarter — the perfect way to end your day.
DAY 4:
After one last delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel (included), we check out and head off for the highlight of the day — the legendary Pegasus Bridge in Bénouville. It was here, in the early hours of D-Day, that British paratroopers under Major John Howard made a daring glider landing to secure one of the most strategic points of the invasion. You’ll have time to explore the engaging Mémorial Pegasus museum, where interactive exhibits and original artifacts bring this incredible story to life. Then it’s time to say goodbye to Normandy as we begin our journey back to Germany. Along the way, we’ll make stops in France for meals and refreshments, with time to stretch your legs and grab a bite to eat. We arrive at our original departure points later in the evening — hopefully with full hearts, lasting memories, and a deeper understanding of the events that shaped history.
