York - Edinburgh - Pitlochry - Stirling Castle - Fountains Abbey
Itinerary (subject to change)
DAY 1:
07:00 am departure from Böblingen, Panzerkaserne PX parking lot. 08:00 am from Ramstein Shell Autohof (parking fee € 5 / day) bus parking lot. 08:30 am from Kaiserslautern, Park & Ride Parking Lot Daennerplatz (near Kleber Kaserne). 09:45 am from Wiesbaden, Hainerberg, J.F. Kennedy Str. bus stop (corner Washingtonstr. near new PX). After a stop for brunch on the Autobahn, we travel to the harbour of Rotterdam, Holland where we board our ship in the afternoon. There we check in to our cabins. Dinner, buffet style, on board included. Take advantage of the ship facilities in the evening!
DAY 2:
After an English breakfast in the dining room of the ship (included) we arrive in Hull, England around 8:00 am. We disembark and travel to York, a jewel of a town. Chance to see the famous Minster, the beautiful medieval Shambles or pay a visit to the Jorvik Viking Center. We then continue our voyage to Scotland, evening check in at our downtown Hotel located near the famous Royal Mile of Edinburgh.
DAY 3:
After a hearty buffet breakfast, we start with a city sightseeing tour of the Capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. This splendid town is dominated by its Castle, towering over the gardens and shops of Princess street. We'll see the Scotts Monument, George Street, Holyrood Palace, the Scottish Parliament, Arthurs Seat and the Royal Mile. Afternoon free time for shopping, Whisky tasting or visit the Edinburgh Castle. For your evening entertainment your guide can arrange a Ghost tour (not included).
DAY 4:
After breakfast (included) in our hotel, we start with a full day journey to Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands. This little town is one of Scotland's most beautiful places to visit. Your guide can take you on a walk to the Piltochry Dam and Fish Ladder, the Old Ferry Point and the Edwardian Suspension Bridge. Of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to taste a fine whisky in this town (extra). Afterwards we’ll visit Stirling Castle, home of Robert the Bruce (entrance fee included). Enjoy the castle and wonderful view from up here, see the William Wallace Memorial and the historic battlefield. Evening return to the Hotel. Your last evening in Edinburgh could be highlighted by a “Scottish dinner” with music and folklore. (extra)
DAY 5:
After breakfast (included), we leave Edinburgh via Newcastle upon Tyne to Ripon. We will visit the Fountains Abbey (ticket extra), one of the most impressive monastery ruins in Europe, sitting in a wonderful park. We then continue to Hull where we board our ship around 6:00 pm to the Netherlands. Dinner on board included. The evening is yours for fun and relaxation.
DAY 6:
After a rich breakfast on board (included), we disembark at 10:00 am and return to Germany with a dinner stop en route. Evening arrival at points of origins.

TOUR PRICE INCLUDES: Guaranteed pickups from Boeblingen, Kaiserslautern, Ramstein, Wiesbaden, transportation by deluxe motor coach with WC, air condition, reclining seats, refrigerator, VCR, 2 overnights with breakfast and dinners (all buffet style) on P&O Ferries in 2-bed outside cabins and 3-4 bed inside cabins all with private facilities, 3 overnights in a downtown 3 star hotel incl. buffet breakfast, all rooms with private facilities, tourist tax, sightseeing of Edinburgh with local guide, excursion to the Highlands with Pitlochry and Stirling, entrance fee Stirling castle, service of an IR tour escort and driver(s)
SINGLE CABIN/ROOM: € 400 for 5 nights. Persons booked on share basis must pay single supplement if no share is available. Share basis means double or triple occupancy.
HOTEL ROOMS: there are no triple rooms available in the hotel. Parties of 3 persons will be booked in two rooms. A single room supplement of € 200 for the 3rd person will be charged extra.
SUPPLEMENTARY COSTS: Ghost tour appr. £ 18 per person, Scottish Folklore show with dinner and drink £ 85 per adult / £ 65 per child, whisky tasting in Pitlochry appr. £ 20 per person, Fountains Abbey appr. £ 16 per person, personal expenses, tips.
CHILDREN’S PRICE: Children 2 through 12 pay € 100 less on adult’s price. Children under 2 pay € 650, additional bed or crib must be paid to hotel and no bed on ship.
DOCUMENTS: Valid US Tourist Passport for military and civilian personnel. Non US-citizens must meet proper Visa requirements.

Costs per person £ 10. How long does it take? You will usually get a decision within 3 working days, but you may get a quicker decision. Occasionally, it may take longer than 3 working days.
CANCELLATION CHARGES: Up to 45 days prior to departure, € 100 per person will be charged; 44 - 30 days prior to departure, 50% of the tour price will be charged; 29 - 15 days prior to departure, 75% of the tour price will be charged; 14 - 7 days prior to departure, 85% of the tour price will be charged; 6 days until day of departure 100% of the tour price will be charged. NO REFUND FOR NOSHOWS!
